7th October 2006 - FryDay begins! This video is here because it is the event at which Fyn Day and Mike Fry first met. They are pictured here discussing the job in hand, which for Mike was to record the live performance sound and for Fyn to shoot the video. The track, Picture in Picture, was written and performed by Sensory Decay and the video is 11 minutes of rock awesomeness... maybe.

Originally written for inclusion in a Swedish online advent calendar (called Sounding December) Mike and Fyn both believe in this song. The sentiment is self-evident; no creed, greed or need exceeds peace. However, it wasn't quite so evident that the winter in the brief, calling for songs on the theme of 'some kind of winter' at Christmas, would be interpreted as a nuclear winter!

Mike Fry did a stunning job of composing the film score for the award winning short film 'Son of a Pitch'. The closing credits, which included a visual reprise of the action's consequences, needed a song to underscore the protagonist's delusions of infallibility. We thought Frank Drake would imagine an infatuated woman singing these very words to him.

This song has been written for the closing credits of a short film called 'Family Ties'. The film might never be made, but the song stands alone as a worthy artistic enterprise. Since Charlotte sang it, there would appear to be no other way that the lyric, now seemingly so simple, could be delivered, but it took several recordings before settling on a performance that worked.

Dedicated to Eleanor Fry (who appears as a "bump" in the video) this combination of great songwriting and virtuoso performance is a classic waiting to be discovered. As one of the songs from the film 'Sayonara Senorita' featured on the debut CD from FryDay Sounds, you can download this track or the whole CD from here. Physical CDs with a bonus track are also available.
